The question that is often stressful for the garden designer/gardener is "How much should I charge?" In this one-day class, offered on Friday, Feb. 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and taught by Tom Smith of Springfield Technical Community College, you will learn how to value your work, estimate supplies, and strategize the overall proposal to avoid under- or overcharging clients. This class will also cover staffing, management and incorporating a diverse and inclusive work environment. 

Tom Smith teaches at Springfield Technical Community College.  His past career experiences include precision machining, HVAC ductwork fabrication, installation, and service technician roles, as well as a stint in the U.S. Navy.  He also wore many 'hats' within a small landscape company as a designer, estimator, salesperson, horticulturist, and construction crew leader.
