BBG Begins Food Drive

BBG Begins Food Drive

Berkshire Botanical Garden is pleased to announced a food drive. All donations go to The People’s Pantry in Great Barrington, which respectfully serves our neighbors experiencing food insecurity by distributing healthy food (locally sourced whenever feasible).

We ask all Garden visitors from now through the holidays to bring donations to a bin set up by the kiosk in front of the Visitor’s Center. We’ll arrange to have all donations brought to The People’s Pantry.

What to Donate

The best unexpired, non-perishable items to donate are:

• canned/dried beans

• peanut butter/other nut butters

• breakfast cereals including rolled oats

• canned fruit/vegetables

• canned soups

• canned tuna/salmon/chicken

• brown rice/quinoa/other grains

• white and whole grain pasta, pasta sauce

• white and whole grain flour, cornmeal

• condiments, cooking oil, coffee, tea

• toiletries such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste

If possible, low-salt, low-sugar foods are preferred.

The People’s Pantry is primarily run by volunteers from the community and is supported with food collection and financial donations from local organizations and individuals.

Help Our Garden Grow!

Your donation helps us to educate and inspire visitors of all ages on the art and science of gardening and the preservation of our environment.

All donations are 100 percent tax deductible.
