Studio Tour: Stephen Procter

When:
Thursday, May 14, 2026
Where:

Offsite on VAN

Join us for a BBG bus trip to Brattleboro, Vt. on Thursday, May 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to visit the studio of renowned ceramic artist Stephen Procter (whose work will be featured this season at BBG). We wil meet in the BBG parking lot to load into the van. Housed in an early 20th-century mill complex, the studio is where Procter creates his monumental vessels and fires them in a 180-cubic-foot gas kiln of his own design. During the visit, the artist will demonstrate his process and lead a walking tour of a nearby garden, where his striking pieces surround a Japanese maple tree said to be the largest in North America. On the way home, we’ll stop at the Book Mill for a springtime picnic table lunch (on your own) before returning to Berkshire Botanical Garden. Experience the beauty of art, craft and nature in one unforgettable day.
