Summer Watercolor with Perspective
Berkshire Botanical Garden
Perspective: the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface to suggest the correct relationship between planes.
Join Pat Hogan on Wednesdays, June 24 to July 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to explore how BBG's buildings provide perfect subjects for this challenging summer session. It is not about mechanical drawing or architecture; rather about painting shapes and shadows, suggesting believable structures. Participants will sketch and photograph subjects around the campus in person.
Pat Hogan’s work is inspired by nature, particularly the Berkshires, the Maine Coast and the vanishing islands of the Chesapeake Bay. Each unique landscape provides a stunning connection with the beauty of our earth and wildlife and the chaos associated with climate change and human disregard for sustaining a healthy planet.
