The property on Cooper Hill is a combination garden/farmstead lovingly developed over 25 years by the owners. The steep winding driveway has been cleared of invasive plants to allow a resurgence of native species, leading to several established gardens including a large mixed border, vegetable garden, shrub borders, and large production cutting garden. Structural garden elements including beech and hornbeam hedging, clipped boxwood and shaped quince trees frame the house. Hardscape includes a hand-built field stone dining patio and "pebble beach" sitting area surrounded by clipped boxwood and the owners’ eclectic collection of containers. Meandering through the garden space, paths draw you ever outwards through the gardens past a charming pet cemetery into a field, where you find a resting spot to contemplate sweeping western views.

With an eye on simplicity, the owners now find their garden motto these days is “edit, edit, edit.”
