Salt and Seasoning

When:
Saturday, October 19, 2024
Where:

Berkshire Botanical Garden

Rolling Rock Salt of Sheffield, Mass., will share the history of salt, the various types of salt, and explore “no salt” options on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. Learn about peppercorns and herbal seasoning, make salty infusions and cook with all the salts, pepper and seasonings available. There will be a “stump the band” grand finale, and a salt and seasoning sale following the class, with all proceeds going to BBG.

Tony Carlotto has owned Rolling Rock Farm and Rolling Rock Salt for 13 years and is the brains behind the products and their hilarious labels. After growing “excess” garlic in 2011, he stumbled across a publication paragraph entitled “Make You Own Garlic Salt,” and now has over 100 flavors of salt, many of them garlic themed. Prior to opening Rolling Rock Salt, he was associated with the Snap Shop in Sheffield for 43 years.
